Yep, more Zep.

One interpretation of Stairway to Heaven.

Erma was contracted to build a deck in back of Page's castle, three stories high. The plans were for a 2nd floor landing, and steps leading up from the back vegetable patch. Plant once described Lelawcge-an-bryn as "heaven." The staircase when completed would be a stairway to view heaven if you climbed up it, or going down, a stairway to carrots and peas.

Some unforgiving feedback.

Excuse me for accusing you of having major mental disorders, but what the hell???!!!!!!!I know that the song was written at the time that Page was having his deck built and that he needed lyrics for it and they were all in his guittar room , but unless you have directly gotten this from Robert Plant or Jimmy Page; which you didn't; then you definately have your information messed up. I feel that you need to further your research in interpreting this song.
...In conclusion to my analysis of yours, songs are defined by their listeners and your interpretation doesn't change my perogative of the song. "Stairway to Heaven" has a much deeper meaning than just the building of a deck. Although it may link to that it also links to many other theories. YOU NEED TO CHAGE YOUR WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the results of the Straight Dope's analysis.

In sum, we've got the well-known psychosociochemical influences of the era, we've got an extremely compressed compositional time frame, and we've got a poetical sensibility that, to be objective about it (and believe me, I like "Stairway to Heaven"), probably rates between 2 and 3 millishakespeares. So I think it's safe to say that what we're hearing aren't so much lyrics as the unmediated pulsations of the reptile brain.
